For families

You don't have to figure this out alone

Navigating AAC for the first time can feel overwhelming. We've been doing this for years — and we're here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

What we do for your family

We handle the hard stuff

Insurance paperwork, prior authorizations, letters of medical necessity — we take care of it so you can focus on your child.

We find the right fit

Every child is different. We work with your SLP and your family to match your child with the device and software that fits their needs — not just what's easiest to prescribe.

We stay with you

Our support doesn't end at delivery. We're here for repairs, re-evaluations, training, and questions — for as long as your child uses their device.

Helpful resources for families

Whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your knowledge, these resources can help.

Getting started

What is AAC?

AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. It includes any method that helps someone communicate when speech alone isn't enough — from picture boards to high-tech speech generating devices.

Eligibility

Is my child a candidate for AAC?

Children of all ages and abilities can benefit from AAC. There is no prerequisite skill level, and research shows that AAC does not hinder speech development — it supports it.

Funding

Understanding insurance coverage

Most AAC devices are covered by Medicaid and many private insurance plans as durable medical equipment (DME). Coverage depends on your plan and your child's diagnosis. Our funding team will review your specific situation.

School & IEP

Working with your child's school

AAC devices can be included in your child's IEP (Individualized Education Program). We can help you understand how to advocate for your child's communication needs in the school setting.

Home support

Supporting AAC at home

The most important thing you can do is model AAC use yourself. We provide family training and resources to help you feel confident using the device alongside your child every day.

Device care

What happens if the device breaks?

Accidents happen. Most devices are covered under warranty, and we handle repairs and loaner devices quickly so your child's communication is never interrupted for long.
